Christ in the Public Forum
Guest Lectures and Discussions
These meetings will take the place of our usual Wednesday Bible
Study |
We
will be inviting guest speakers, area pastors, and vicars to
come speak with us on topics dealing with God's Word and our
society today. Come for a free lunch and stay to hear the
speaker. Bring your questions and we will dive into a
lively discussion on our Christian faith in the public forum.

WHAT ARE
LUTHERANS?
The Lutheran Church is a
church body reaching back to the Protestant Reformation of the 16th
century. We take our name from one of our founding leaders and a
principle reformer of the Church: Martin Luther. His emphasis that
God saves us by grace alone, through faith alone on account of Christ's
sacrificial death for the forgiveness of sins, is perhaps the most
distinctive doctrine of the Lutheran Church. And while we confess
this Reformation message, we do not hesitate to show our continuity with
the Christian Church from all times and places.
Clinging to our Savior Jesus Christ, we receive His gifts of grace in
Holy Baptism and His Body and Blood in the Lord's Supper. Through
these gifts we are strengthened in faith toward God and in love and
service to our neighbor.
