West Portal Lutheran School
Teach your children to choose the right path, and when they are older, they will remain upon it. Proverbs 22:6
West Portal Lutheran School ministers to the spiritual and moral, educational and physical, relational and aesthetic needs of our students who are in Kindergarten through the 8th grade.   While keeping high academic standards, we seek to enable our students to excel to the best of their abilities in a caring Christian context.

West Portal Lutheran School has been in existence since 1951,  It has two campus locations with over 500 students and 26 teachers.

Our school seeks close cooperation of home, school and church with the goal of guiding young people to fulfill their purpose in life as educated, dedicated Christian citizens.

The school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and by the National Lutheran School Accreditation Commission.

The curriculum includes those subjects commonly taught in elementary and middle schools as set forth by the State of California including computer and music.  A strong emphasis is placed on basic traditional academic subjects as well as on religion.   Report cards are issued four times a year, and Parent Teacher Conferences are held twice a year. The Stanford Achievement Test is given annually to all students in grades 1-8.
